Call for nominations: IWCA Executive Board Officers

We are seeking candidates for three open positions: Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer

About the positions:
Secretary and Treasurer are two year terms. The VP is a six year commitment (VP from 2011-13, President, 2013-15, Past President, 2015-17). All terms start at NCTE in fall of 2011. Duties of each office are described on the IWCA web site: http://writingcenters.org/about/governance/

Qualifications:
Minimum: Candidates must be IWCA members in good standing; they need not be current board members.
Recommended: Travel support to three conferences (NCTE, CCCC, IWCA); modest institutional support for work load.

Election Process:
Only board members vote for these candidates.  To insure fairness in the event that sitting officers (Treas/Sec) seek the VP position, the current president (Roberta Kjesrud) runs the election; only she has access to the final tallies.  The election will be held March 7-15, 2011.  Votes will be cast electronically and anonymously.  Results announced at the IWCA Collaborative @ Cs.

Nomination Process/Timeline:
To nominate yourself or another, provide a CV and a 200-word overview indicating the candidate’s willingness to serve, platform, research interests, etc.  Board members will review this material before voting. Self-nominations are accepted.

Send nominations by February 18, 2011.

Send only to: Roberta Kjesrud, Roberta.Kjesrud@wwu.edu
