Oregon State University Position

The Oregon State University Writing Center invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), 9-month, fixed-term English Language Learning Coordinator.

The Oregon State University (OSU) Writing Center is one of the busiest writing centers in the region. Currently, between 30 and 40% of our sessions are with English Language Learners, and we are anticipating a significant increase of ELL students in the next 3-5 years. The Writing Center English Language Learning Coordinator (ELLC) is charged with ensuring that the OSU Writing Center provides English Language Learners with writing support aligned with Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and writing center best practices. As such, central responsibilities include training and supervising undergraduate and graduate writing assistants, conducting one-on-one writing center conferences with graduate and undergraduate English Language Learner (ELL) students, and supporting campus faculty who have ELL students in their classes.
